savoir pourquoi (connaître la raison). S’emploie quand on veut comprendre la raison ou l’explication de quelque chose. Très courant avec un complément (know why + proposition) : « I know why you’re upset. » Peut aussi s’utiliser seul quand la raison est sous-entendue : « We need to know why. » Avec « do you know why…? », c’est une question.
