Mr. Thong-in pretended to be surprised and asked, “How did you know it was true?”

เมื่อข้าพเจ้าได้อ่านหนังสือนี้แล้วถามนายทองอินว่า “แกจะไปหรือไม่ไป”

After I had read this book, I asked Thong-in, “Are you going or not?”

ข้าพเจ้าก็ถามว่า “แกเจ็บที่ไหนบ้างไหม”

I asked, “Are you hurt anywhere?”

นายทองอินกระซิบข้าพเจ้าว่า “แกจำไว้นะ ฉันชื่อเปลื้องนา แล้วตัวแกน่ะชื่อจ้อย”

Mr. Thong-in whispered to me, “Remember, my name is Plueang, and your name is Joi.”

นายทองอินถามต่อไปว่า “แกไม่กลัวมันหรือ”

Mr. Thong-in continued, “Aren’t you afraid of it?”

นายทองอินถามข้าพเจ้าว่า “แกเห็นอะไรประหลาดในนี้บ้างไหม?”

Mr. Thong-In asked me, “Have you seen anything strange in here?”
