« Je pensais que je… » / « Je croyais que je… » (au passé). S’utilise pour dire ce que vous pensiez dans le passé, souvent quand vous vous êtes trompé ou quand vous n’étiez pas sûr. Très fréquent avec un verbe au past (« I thought that I saw… », « I thought that I had… ») ou avec « might » pour une possibilité (« I thought that I might… »).
