don't know whether Used to say that you do not know whether something is true or will happen. It follows a noun or な-adjective directly, as in 学生なのかわからない. For verbs and い-adjectives, use のかわからない instead.

JA: 彼が学生なのかわからない。

EN: I don't know whether he is a student.

彼が私より若いのか年上なのかわからない。
